Cyprus Citizenship by Investment Eligibility
The Cyprus Citizenship by Investment Programme is one of the quickest ways to obtain European residency and citizenship, in accordance with Section 111A(2) of the Civil Registry Law 2002-2019.
To qualify for citizenship, applicants must make one of the following investment options and hold it for 5 years in addition to meeting the following conditions:
Possess a valid passport.
No criminal records.
Hold a valid Schengen visa.
There is no record of visa refusals from any other EU member states.
The main applicant’s assets are not frozen within the EU.
Hold a residence permit in the Republic of Cyprus for 6 months prior to obtaining citizenship.
A permanent private residence in the Republic of Cyprus valued at €500,000 plus VAT.
If a person chooses to invest in residential properties only and the price of one of the residential properties is more than EUR 500,000, the total investment amount must be EUR 2 million.

In addition to the investment options specified below, applicants must make a contribution of €200,000 as follows:
(a) Provide a minimum of €100,000 to the Cyprus Land Development Corporation for the purpose of financing an affordable housing settlement scheme, including the implementation of other housing schemes/measures; (b) Provide €100,000 to the Research and Innovation Foundation; or Industrial and Technological Services; or the Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Fund; or the National Solidarity Fund.
1. Real estate, land development or infrastructure projects
Applicants may invest at least €2 million in the purchase of a property building or construction project or other land development project, including residential or commercial development, tourism sector development or other infrastructure projects.
2. Purchase, establish or participate in a Cyprus company or enterprise
Applicants may invest at least €2 million in the purchase or participation of companies or organizations established and operating in Cyprus. It is necessary to prove that these companies or companies have physical premises in Cyprus and employ at least 5 (five) Cypriot citizens or citizens of any EU Member State.
3. Investing in alternative investment funds or financial assets of Cyprus companies or organizations
“Applicants may invest at least €2 million in an alternative investment fund or registered alternative investment fund, or in the financial assets of a Cyprus company or organization licensed by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. These alternative investment funds or registered alternative investment funds are allowed to have shares valued at less than €2 million on the secondary market of the Cyprus Stock Exchange.”
