The Republic of Singapore, commonly known as Singapore, is an island country and city-state located in Southeast Asia. It is separated from Indonesia by the Singapore Strait to the south and from Malaysia by the Johor Strait to the north. Singapore consists of 63 islands including Singapore Island. It is a tropical island in Southeast Asia with a sunny climate. It is known as the Garden City because of its high level of greening.

Singapore Citizenship by Investment Qualification


Singapore launched the Global Investor Programme (GIP) as early as 2004. It is a permanent residence program launched by the Singapore government. It is designed for entrepreneurs and investors with high assets who intend to immigrate to Singapore. It attracts high-net-worth clients to obtain Singapore's permanent residence status by investing or starting a business in Singapore. To obtain citizenship, applicants must not only meet the following conditions, but also choose one of the following investment options:


1. Character must be outstanding: Applicants must demonstrate good character and moral qualities.

2. No criminal record: Applicants must have no serious criminal record to ensure that they have a good background.

3. Physical Health: Applicants must be in good health and meet Singapore’s health standards.

4. Have a high personal net worth: Applicants must have a certain amount of personal net worth to meet the financial requirements of the investment citizenship program.

5. Residence requirements: Singapore does not have any residence requirements for applicants . Applicants and their families do not need to live in Singapore, and their green cards will never be affected. Singapore immigration is truly a one-step process, with no worries about residence restrictions!






Singapore Investment Options


Singapore's Global Investor Programme allows overseas investors to obtain permanent residency. Applicants can apply for permanent residency for their spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21, and long-term visit passes for their parents.


Singapore’s Citizenship by Investment Program offers high net worth individuals a variety of options to obtain citizenship and promotes economic growth and foreign direct investment. The following are the investment options available:


1. Singapore skilled immigrants: Singapore's skilled immigrants are mainly for professional and technical talents or people with a university degree or above. If the relevant person is employed by a local company and issued a work visa (or work permit), he or she can apply for permanent residence from the Singapore Immigration Department with a valid work visa. There are two main types of work visas in Singapore:

  • Employment Pass (EP)

  • S Pass (SP)

2. Singapore Student Visa: Singapore’s study abroad immigration is applicable to international students studying in the local area. If they meet the appropriate conditions, they can apply for permanent residency:

  • Lived in Singapore for 2 years or more

  • Studying in Singapore (either public or private school)

  • Pass a Singapore national exam (Secondary School Examination/O Level/A Level)

3. Singapore Entrepreneur Immigration: Singapore Entrepreneur Immigration needs to register a company locally and apply as an entrepreneur, innovator or investor.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold at least 30% of the company's shares and the company must be a new company registered for less than 6 months.


4. Singapore investment immigration: Singapore's Global Investor Programme allows overseas people around the world to invest in order to obtain permanent residency. Applicants can apply for permanent residency for their spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21, and apply for long-term visit passes for their parents. Invest at least S$2.5 million to open a new company or expand an existing business; or invest at least S$2.5 million in a global business.

 

5. Singapore Technology Pass Immigration: Applicants do not have to be employed by any company. They only need to meet at least two conditions to start a business locally or work in a company settled in Singapore, make investments, serve as a director, or serve as a lecturer in a higher education institution.
